Set Up a Home Page

  1. Open Internet Explorer
  2. Go to the web page you want for your home page
  3. Click TOOLS / INTERNET OPTIONS / GENERAL / USE CURRENT
     Firefox
  1. Open Firefox
  2. Go to the web page(s) you want for your home page(s)
  3. Click TOOLS / OPTIONS
  4. Click MAIN MENU
  5. Under STARTUP / WHEN FIREFOX STARTS, select SHOW MY HOME PAGE.
  6. Click USE CURRENT PAGE(S).
  7. Click OK.

Check the speed of my Internet connection?

After you have made a modem connection, right click the Modem Status icon in your system tray and click Status. If you are using a 32-bit communications program designed for Windows 98, you will see a box that displays the status of your current connection, including the LINE speed (also known at the DATA LINK speed or DATA CIRCUIT-TERMINATING EQUIPMENT (DCE) speed). This is the speed between your modem and the modem you are connected to. In other words, it is the speed at which data is transmitted over the telephone line. Your speed is affected by the speed of your modem and the condition of your telephone line. If you have a hum, echoes, or static on the line, your connection speed will be degraded.
