Meetings

Evening Meetings are held at Coronado Center on the fourth Wednesday evening of the month. Because of the holidays, the November and December meetings are combined and held in early December. There is no meeting in August. Reservations are not required. Visitors are welcome.

Breakfast Meetings are held at Good Sam's on the second Friday morning of the month. This is designed to be a more social atmosphere. Come and have breakfast and conversation with others interested in computers. A brief program follows breakfast. Reservations are required if you plan to eat breakfast. Visitors are welcome.

Board Meetings are held on the second Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce office. All members are invited to attend.

Program Survey

Our meeting V.P.s are interested in your suggestions for meetings; therefore, they have put together a program survey. Please rate your level of interest in possible program topics. Mark beside each with 0, 1, 2, or 3 (0=zero interest, 1=little interest, 2=moderate interest, 3=high interest).

Either bring your completed survey to a meeting or mail to Clay Herrmann, V.P. Programs (evening meetings) or Mary Lou Moran, V.P. Social (breakfast meetings). You can get their mailing addresses off of the CCHSV membership directory.

If you have an idea that is not on the program survey, email them at V.P. Programs or V.P. Social

Geocaching

Many often ask, What is geocaching? In a nutshell, it is a high-tech treasure hunt using GPS receivers. Players, aptly called geocachers, have hidden hundreds of thousands of caches all over the world. Basically, the game plays as follows. You go to www.geocaching.com and conduct a search of the area you wish to hunt. Once armed with the description and coordinates of the hidden cache, you begin your quest. After locating the geocache, you log your visit into the cache logbook and then return home to share your experiences online.

Sounds easy, right? It is! The game can be as difficult or as simple as you want, since you decide which geocaches you wish to seek. What's great; the game is not age specific. Both young and old will enjoy the hunt. This is a great opportunity to connect with children while keeping their attention and interest. Plus, it's fun and requires little to get started. If you are looking for a way to bring your family together in the great outdoors, plan to attend this informative and entertaining program and you will be geocaching in no time!

It is important you make reservations if you intend to eat breakfast. Email Mary Lou Moran or call at 226-5007 by noon the Wednesday prior to the meeting.

Please have the correct change for breakfast. It is no longer necessary to leave a tip for the wait staff. Good Sam's policy does not permit them to accept tips.

Please remember to wear your name tag!
